The Queen's Gambit: The Story
The most powerful piece in chess is the queen.
When this piece joins the game of Duel Monsters anything will change.
With two dragon sisters, a magician and her descendant, the queen will take her rightful place.
As it should have been.
Before we start, here is something that has always confused me.
When Yugi and his friends go to the hospital to see if Grandpa Muto is awake, they all wear their school uniforms and Grandpa is already up and running.
In the next scene, they all go home together.
We know it takes at least a whole night to reach Duelist Kingdom and patients who have been in a coma need at least a few days to return to forces.
So how the heck is this working?
That's a plothole, so I decided to fill it realistic.
Enjoy the chapter!
Chapter 18: The Legendary Heroes I
Afya looked with loving eyes at Sehrazat and Amira.
Thankful Pegasus had indeed held his promise to free the trapped souls and after a few days of recovery, Amira was back home with them.
Sehrazat clung to her mother, not leaving her side, she even slept with her in the same bed as when she had been a child.
This was right now the scene Afya watched.
Mother and daughter sleeping soundly in a bed together.
A bittersweet feeling arises in Afya.
It felt like she once had been the daughter and also the mother.
How little she remembers of her life as queen.
Yes, she had found Yami again and their love was as new ignited, but...she felt so bad how she didn't remember her children.
Yami and she had at least one child for sure, a daughter who had founded the Faizan Family, sadly her name was lost in the passage of times.
The former queen had lost so much.
It hurt.
She signed and caressed both Sehrazat and Amira's hair.
This was her and Yami's flesh and blood, maybe it would be enough to love through them their daughter.
Their daughter who has been dead for 3000 years, while she and Yami roamed the world as spirits.
No parents should in any way survive their children.
It was unnatural.
Afya closed her eyes and tears fell down her cheeks.
She just wished for a moment, just to see a glimpse of her children.
Sadly nothing came to her.
With a tearful sign, the former queen of Egypt retired back into her Millenium Fragment.
She needed time alone.
(*)
Yami felt the exact moment when Afya returned to their mindscape.
He could feel the sorrow of his queen like it was his own.
So he stepped out of his Soul Room and knocked on hers.
"Come in.", she called quietly.
The pharaoh found her sitting on the stairs of her palace, looking thoughtful.
"Love.", he said and sat down beside her. His arm wrapped lovingly around her. "Talk or just hold you?"
As an answer, she embraced him tight and cried on his shoulder.
She needed comfort before she could talk and Yami would give her this.
They stayed for quite some time like this, but Yami didn't pressure his wife. He would gladly just hold her till she cried all her tears, even without telling him what was wrong.
When she felt ready, she would say so.
After a while, Afya took his hand and led him to her bed chambers.
She still didn't tell him what was wrong but asked him to make love to her.
"Are you sure?", he asked, caressing her cheek.
"Yeah...I just need to feel your love, please darling."
Well, Yami could never say no to her.
So they made sweet and tender love.
When Afya reached her orgasm she cried again and Yami kissed her tears away.
They lay naked and spend in each other arms and slowly Afya told him what was wrong.
"I understand you fully, my love," he told her and kissed her forehead. "I thought about this, too—about us, our life, our family...I also log in to know more and to even have a glimpse of our child."
The royal couple talked long into the night, till they fell asleep.
Their hearts are a bit lighter to have shared this pain with their spouse.
Maybe the gods would be so kind and give them some vision one day.
(*)
The next day Yugi's group and Sehrazat's group had together lunch in Domino High.
They were surprised that they went to the same school, yet only had met at Duelist Kingdom.
Life was crazy.
Currently, Yugi and the others told their friends, who weren't there yesterday, how the American Champion Rebecca Hopkins wanted Grandpa Muto Blue Eyes, even calling him a thief before her grandfather saved the whole situation.
"She sounds like a brat.", said Maja, slurping her ramen. "And you just gave her your Ties of Friendship card, Yugi?"
Anzu answered her: "Well, in the end, she was just a little girl, who misunderstood something and Yugi showed like this how he forgave her."
"Yeah, but she's still a brat.", agreed Joey with Maja.
"If we are talking about cards, I could use some new ones for my deck.", told Kihana, drinking from her water bottle.
"You guys can come with us to my family's Game Shop.", said Yugi smiling. "Grandpa wants to meet you all."
"It would be nice to meet your grandpa officially and get some new good cards.", found Sehrazat.
So it was decided that Sehrazat, Kihana and Maja would come after school to Yugi's family Game Shop with the others.
Sadiye had already made plans with her school friends and would join them another time.
Grandpa Muto was a sweet old man who told the three girls to call him just Grandpa and helped them with making their decks stronger.
Right now Grandpa showed them new cards, as the door to the shop opened.
All turnend around and saw...Mokuba?
"Mokuba-Chan!", called Kihana worried and kneeled down beside the rain-wet child. "What's wrong what are you doing here?"
"Kihana-Nee...Nii-Sama..."
Kihana took Mokuba and all helped him get inside Yugi's house.
They were now in the living room, Mokuba with a warm blanket and a cup of warm milk as he explained what had happened with his brother.
"Kaiba is trapped inside an adventure game world?", shouted Yugi surprised.
"And if you lose, you can never leave?", said Anzu.
"That's scary as impressive at the same time.", added Sehrazat.
Kaiba Corp was really the most high-tech industry in the world to create something like this!
"Yugi, please save my big brother.", pleaded Mokuba.
"But since Kaiba Corporation's executives are involved, this will be difficult.", warned Grandpa Muto.
"My big brother's dream is to build Kaiba Lands around the world to make children happy.", confessed Mokuba.
This surprised anyone.
Kaiba seemed so cold and yet he had such a noble dream.
Kihanna felt a mix of emotions.
She didn't know Seto Kaiba, the only interaction they had was when they stared at each other like in a dream, however, something inside her felt this was the true nature of Kaiba's character.
Where she knows this she wonders herself.
"That's really Kaiba's dream?", spoke Jonouchi aloud what the most thought.
"It's true.", answered Mokuba. "That's why he devoted his whole life to Kaiba Corporation. He never had time to relax."
Kihana stroked the younger boy's hair gently.
"Don't cry Mokuba-Chan, we will help you save your big brother. Right guys?"
Of course, all agreed and so they followed Mokuba to one of the closed Kaiba Lands.
Apparently, they had Virtual Reality Seats there too.
As they stepped inside they saw the capsule and Mokuba checked if they were functional.
They were!
Now they could enter the Virtual World.
There was only a small problem.
"I see four capsules and we are eight.", pointed Maja out.
"Well that's a no-brainer.", said Jonouchi. "Me, Yugi, Sehra and-"
"Me."
"Mokuba?"
"Mokuba-Chan are you sure?", worried Kihana. "If you lose, you can never leave the game. I don't think your brother wants this, I should go."
"Kihana-Nee, there's no point living in a world without my big brother! You understand, right? Could you live in a world without Sadiye-Chan?"
Well, he got her there, so she let him.
So Sehrazat, Yugi, Joey and Mokuba enter the capsule, while Honda, Anzu, Maja and Kihana wait and protect them if necessary.
"You have to come back, or I will find a way to drag you out myself, I swerve by Ra.", told Kihana with Anzu and Maja nodding in the background.
"We will, Kihana. Just only to not face your wrath.", joked Sehrazat half-heartily.
In truth, she was kinda nervous, but she loved video games, so she hoped her experience as a gamer would help her.
With this Honda pulled the lever and the four in the capsule were transported into the virtual world.
(*)
Sehrazat and the boys walked around a forest.
The girl had to admit, all looked, felt and sounded real.
Incredible.
"I wonder if this world has a connection with Duel Monsters.", shared Yugi his thoughts as he looked at the Deck Holder on his arm. It had a place for Duel Monster Cards and a display which showed the number 2000. "We don't know the rules of this world, so we need to be careful."
The other agreed with him.
They stopped on a cliff and looked down.
A cemetery was under them.
Slowly they made their way through it and Yugi pointed out how they surely would pass through it scot-free.
"I've seen this place before.", mumbled Jonouchi.
"Where in Silent Hill or Resident Evil?", asked Sehrazat. "For me, it looks like just a creepy cemetery."
Suddenly they heard Jonocuhi scream that there was a ghost.
It was not one ghost, but three zombie Duel Monsters.
"Clown Zombie, Armored Zombie and Dragon Zombie?", said Joey their names surprised. "They're Duel Monsters. In that case..."
He drew a card from his deck and then didn't know how to summon it.
Sehrazat, Yugi and Mokuba fall down anime-style.
Then the Zombie Horde raced towards them to attack!
Mokuba drew a card, held it up and called its name.
"Go, Rude Kaiser!"
Yugi and Sehrazat followed his example.
"Come out, Dark Magician!"
"Let's do this, Dark Magician Girl!"
The three monsters appeared in a flash of light and attacked the zombie monsters.
The zombies were destroyed, however, they came back.
Since Joey knows now how to summon a Duel Monster he called for his Flame Swordsman.
"Oh no! Stop your attack, Jonouchi!" shouted Yugi as he noted that the zombies' attack points had increased.
But it was too late.
Flame Sword man attacks Dragon Zombie, only for it to return and destroy Joey's monster.
Yugi explained how Zombie Monsters gained attack points every time they resurrected since they were immortal.
"This reminds me of Jonouchi Duel in Duelist Kingdom!", gasped Sehrazat and drew a card. "So this will help! I activate the Magic Card Shield & Sword to swap their attack points with their defence ones. Now we can attack. Dark Magician Girl! Dark Burning Attack!"
Dark Magician Girl destroyed all the Zombies and they were safe.
For now.
"Good reaction, Sehrazat-Chan!", praised her Yugi, while she smiled shyly.
Duel Monster cards appeared before them and they picked each one up.
"There's a picture of gold coins.", wonders Mokuba.
"It's probably this world's money.", guessed Sehrazat.
Meanwhile, Joey looked at his Life Points and was shocked that he didn't get them back. He was now at 1820.
"I see. This represents our life.", said Mokuba.
"Damn! What happens if it reaches 0?", shouted Joey.
Sehrazat made a face.
"We better don't find out."
All agreed.
That's when Joey noted a cute little fairy hiding behind a gravestone.
The group stepped towards it.
"Aww, she is so cute.", cooed Sehrazat.
"In video games, fairies give hints.", told Jonochi.
At that moment, the little fairy flowed away and our group of four ran after her.
If Joey was right, then they must follow her.
Sadly, they lost sight of her but found a desert city.
Maybe there someone had a clue where Seto Kaiba was?
So they enter the city.
"I'm getting Assassin's Creed vibes from this town.", mussed Sehrzat looking around. "You can parkour here amazing."
"Hey, guys look at this!", called Yugi.
There was a market stall with ultra-rare Duel Monsters cards!
Jonouchi wanted to buy them all, but Mokuba pointed out how pricey they were. With their 5 gold coins each they could buy nothing.
After this disappointment, they decide to split up to find clues about where Kaiba could be.
They meet up at the big fountain in the middle of the town to share what they found out during their investigation.
"Did you learn anything?", asked Yugi Sehrazat who shook her head.
"Sadly not."
"Me too!", said Jonouchi, while a dog was biting down his jacket.
"I learned a lot of stuff!", said Mokuba and led them to the border of the desert town. "This morning, someone transporting a person inside a cage went to Owess Temple."
"Could it be Kaiba?", wondered Joey, as they all looked at the huge desert before them.
"Probably!", chorused Yugi and Sehrazat together.
"In order to get to Owess Temple, we have to cross this desert.", explained Mokuba.
This made alarm bells ring in Sehrazat's head.
"You don't want to go on foot, Mokuba! That's dangerous, we need a camel or a horse. Going on foot is suicide!"
But Mokuba didn't listen and ran into the desert.
"No, Mokuba, wait!", yelled Sehrazat and ran after him, followed by Yugi and Jonouchi.
It seemed they walked for hours in the desert and then also a sandstorm formed.
Just awesome!
"This is impossible!", shouted Joey.
"I told you it is suicide to cross a desert on foot, listen to the Egyptian girl!", grumbled Sehrazat.
"Let's go back, Mokuba.", begged Yugi.
"Be quiet!", shouted Mokuba back. "I have to find my big brother."
Of course, a sand tornado raced right up to them and enclosed them.
Then all went dark around them.
Sehrazat didn't know how long she was knocked out, but she heard how Yugi gently shook her awake.
She opened her eyes and sat up.
"Yugi-Kun...what happened?"
"We are back at the desert town."
Mokuba had his back all turned to them, no one knew what they should do now.
Maybe really find a camel like Sehrazat had said?
Out of nowhere, they heard an old man laugh.
"Do you wish to cross the desert?"
They run up to him, Joey asking him if he knows a way.
"You need a Niwatori card to cross the desert.", was the answer.
"What? That card that looks like a Chocobo from Final Fantasy?", said Sehrazat with a raised eyebrow. "The Big Five are totally ribbing off Final Fantasy VII! Is Sephiroth also here or what?!"
Yugi patted her shoulders to calm her down.
"There, there, Sehrazat-Chan."
Sehrazat pounds but calms down, so Yugi turns to the old ma asking him where they could get a Niwatori card.
And that's when they finally encounter the first bug in the game.
The old man just repeated his two lines to infinity.
Since this was a dead end, the group decided to split up again to find the Niwatori card.
(*)
In the real world, Honda and Anzu leaned on the control panel, while Maja sat down on the ground and Kihana stood beside the capsule with crossed arms.
"A lot of time has passed already.", pointed Anzu out.
Maja looked up to her. "Some games take weeks to finish them. Who knows how long they have to stay in this one."
"I really hope not for weeks.", said Kihana worried. "They will waste away and die surely."
"Ah, don't say such a thing Kihana.", begged Anzu.
She couldn't and wouldn't watch her friends just die before them!
"Now, girls, let's calm down.", said Honda. "To pass the time, I'll tell you all a special story. The title is 'Hiroto Honda's First Love During Middle School'"
The girls deadpanned at him.
"We definitely don't want to hear this story!", said Anzu for all of them.
"Really? How about my elementary school graduation speech about wanting to become a pilot?"
"Do you seriously not realize the danger we're in?", gritted Anzu out.
"I would throw a pillow at you if I had one right now!", added Maja.
"Honda, be serious!", chested also Kihana. "We're not playing a funny game for fun this is a rescue mission."
That's when they heard how people entered the building. They looked out the door and saw a man in a suits, probably the Big Five security people.
"Okay, guys, I think it's magic time.", told them Maja.
They closed the door and watched how Maja held her arms up and chanted something in Arabic.
The metal door flashed in gold.
"There, this should keep us safe. They can't enter from the other side."
"Awesome Maja-Chan!", praised Anzu, which made Maja all bashful.
"It's still so bizarre to see real magic, but yeah, awesome!", agreed Honda.
"How long will the spell last?", asked Kihana.
"I have enough energy don't worry. I can't at least hold up the barrier for another three hours."
Kihana nodded and looked at the capsule.
"Then let's hope it will be enough time for the others."

Fear, silent migration: A year after anti-Muslim riots in Delhi
Fear, silent migration: A year after anti-Muslim riots in Delhi
New Delhi, India – Nisha Mewati and her family had been living peacefully in northeast Delhi’s Shiv Vihar area – a mixed-neighbourhood where Hindus and Muslims lived cheek by jowl – for more than a decade.
But last February, their world changed. “And it changed suddenly,” said 22-year-old Nisha, sadness flickering in her eyes.
On February 25, 2020, she was going about her daily chores in the morning when she heard shouts of “Jai Shri Ram” (Hail Lord Ram) – a Hindu chant that has lately become a rallying cry for murder – reverberating at some distance from her home.
“A Muslim family was being dragged from their house in an adjacent lane and beaten by a Hindu mob,” she told Al Jazeera.
The neighbourhood had been tense for a couple of days as violent Hindu mobs had started targeting Muslims who were protesting against the new citizenship law passed by the Hindu nationalist government led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“But we didn’t expect it to hit us. Our family thought we would be safe in our home.”
They were wrong.
Nisha’s neighbourhood, along with several other areas, were engulfed in anti-Muslim violence that led to the killing of more than 50 people, mostly Muslims, in India’s capital New Delhi.
As the cries in the neighbourhood intensified, Nisha and her family, fearing for their lives, hurriedly left their home and took shelter at a relative’s place in an adjoining Muslim-majority area.
Remains of burnt motorbikes kept in a room in Shahnaz Shaikh’s house
They stayed away for 15 days, and when they returned, it was clear they were not welcome.
“Before the riots, Muslims and Hindus both lived together without any issues. But once we returned it was clear things had changed. Our friends in the colony were no longer our friends. They had turned strangers, if not enemies,” Nisha told Al Jazeera. “They yelled out ‘rioters’ on seeing us.”
A few days after Nisha and her family returned to their neighbourhood, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The outbreak in the country was tied by media and many ruling party leaders to a congregation held by the Tablighi Jamaat – a Muslim missionary organisation – in New Delhi. It provided another opportunity for hostile Hindu residents to attack their Muslim neighbours.
“Hindu residents of the lane used to cover their mouths when they saw us (Muslims). They called us ‘corona’,” Nisha said. “So, we stopped coming out of the house. Our brothers used to go out only to purchase groceries. After three-four months we sold our house.”
Two other Muslim families who used to live in Nisha’s lane have also moved out.
On 23 Feb 2020, Delhi Police assaulted five Muslim men who were lying on the floor and writhing in pain and made them sing the national anthem and ‘Vande Mataram’. Faizan, who sustained bullet injuries, died on February 28. 1/2#DelhiPogrom pic.twitter.com/aUxuIKY54K

Migration from Hindu Mohallas
Mohammad Hanif’s story is no different. He too sold his two-story house in violence-hit Karawal Nagar – two kilometres (1.2 miles) from Shiv Vihar – a few months after the riots and is now living in a rented accommodation in Mustafabad – a Muslim-majority suburban area in India’s capital. Mohammad’s house was ransacked and looted during the violence.
“I had four beds, a bike and two fridges. Nothing was spared. There was no point living in the area now. It was better to vacate,” the 50-year-old said.
Mohammad’s was the only Muslim household in the lane and, after the violence last February, he and his family decided to leave forever. Finally, in October last year, he managed to sell the property.
”Our lives were saved once with difficulty. So, it is not right to risk our lives again.”
Mohammad laments the fact that prices for properties in the violence-struck areas have gone down, most likely due to the number of distress sales. “I sold it (the house) to a non-Muslim for 12 lakhs (approximately $16,500). The same house was offered 18 lakhs (approximately $24,800) before the riots” he said.
Police in Delhi, however, refused to pay much attention to the issue of Muslims feeling forced to leave Hindu-majority areas. “We are currently busy dealing with the farmer protests,” Chinmoy Biswal, a senior Delhi Police public relations officer told Al Jazeera, referring to the months-long farmers’ protests on the outskirts of Delhi against new farm laws.
Rights groups and several victims have accused Delhi Police of being complicit in the riots last year, doing little as Hindu mobs went on a rampage for several days. During the violence – which many government critics termed an anti-Muslim pogrom – police personnel could even be seen throwing stones towards Muslims along with the Hindu mobs. Police have also been accused by victims and lawyers of coercing them to withdraw cases related to the violence.
Some Muslim residents who have not been able to sell their property yet say they have to leave their houses on national occasions and Hindu festivities, due to security fears (Restricted Use)
Some Muslim residents who have not been able to sell their property yet say they have to leave their houses on national occasions and Hindu festivities, due to security fears.
“On the occasion of (India’s) Republic Day, our entire family shifted to a relative’s place. We feared that clashes may erupt,” said Shahnaz Shaikh, a resident of the violence-affected Shiv Vihar.
Farhana Khan, a local activist who has been helping the victims, said that ahead of Diwali – the Hindu festival of lights – last November, some “elements” used to gather near a crematorium in Shiv Vihar and would chant “Jai Shri Ram” whenever the adhan (Muslim call for prayer) was called from a nearby mosque. “They stopped doing it only after police had to be called for intervention. Such things create an atmosphere of perpetual fear,” Farhana told Al Jazeera.
Social activist Aasif Mujtaba said rallies were organised by right-wing Hindu groups in the bylanes of Shiv Vihar to coincide with the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.
“Muslim community was petrified when they saw crowds roaming on streets chanting objectionable slogans, but very little was done by police and administration to address the concerns of Muslim community,” said Aasif, who heads Miles2Smile foundation which provides legal and monetary aid to survivors of the February 2020 violence.
Muslim residents of the area say the pervading milieu of mistrust and interfaith hatred in the wake of the riots – the worst religious violence since 1984 – is severely affecting their psychological wellbeing, forcing them to leave the neighbourhoods in which they have lived for decades.
“We want to leave the place. We do not manage to sleep at nights properly. Even a small sound at night scares us and it feels like we are being attacked again,” Shahnaz told Al Jazeera.
Shahnaz’s house was also ransacked during last year’s violence, and she and her sister lost all their jewellery. “The house wasn’t put to flames only because it would have burned adjoining houses owned by Hindus too,” said Shahnaz’s sister, Nazia Parween.
Their family also wants to sell their house and leave but they say they have not been able to get even three-fourths of the actual price.
“My mother wants to sell her house now. First, we wanted to sell it for 40 lakh ( $55,000). But as we could not get the price we decided to sell it for 35 lakh ($48,000) and now we are even willing to sell it for 30 lakh ($41,000). But nobody is willing to pay,” said Shahnaz.
She says all the approaching buyers are non-Muslims. ”Off course how would now Muslims come to this area?”
Distress sales
The property brokers operating in areas affected by the violence also say Muslims are selling their properties in haste, leading to distress sales. “Currently, some 15-20 people have asked me to look out for sellers for their houses. These are mostly Muslim households who live in Hindu-majority neighbourhoods. Some have already sold their buildings through me,” said Rizwan Khan, a property broker for the last 17 years.
Widespread damage to properties were reported during the Delhi violence
“But they don’t get market rate for their properties. For example, a building amounting to 20 lakh (approximately $27,000) is being sold out at 15 lakh (approximately $20,000),” Rizwan told Al Jazeera.
Local authorities, however, say they are “unaware” of such developments.
Puneet Kumar Patel, a sub-divisional Magistrate of Karawal Nagar, says they received no such complaints. “At the time of riots some people had abandoned their homes but now they are returning to them. If there is such a development (of Muslim migration) it would have definitely come to our notice,” Patel told Al Jazeera.
However, the ruling BJP acknowledged the migration of Muslims from mixed communities to ghettos and called for “trust-building initiatives” between the communities. “This is unfortunate, that after the riots the gap between two communities has widened in those areas. The people and the government of Delhi and central government should sit together and sort this out,” Harish Khurana, spokesperson for the BJP in New Delhi, told Al Jazeera.
For many in the violence-hit areas though, the situation is beyond reconciliation.
Decreased social interaction between the communities
“How would there be any normalcy if there is no interaction?” asks Muhammad Ibrahim who runs a grocer’s in Shiv Vihar. He lives in a Muslim-majority area, but owns a shop in a Hindu-majority lane. His business, he says, has been badly hit since Hindu customers no longer come to his shop.
“Right now Hindus prefer to go to shops owned by Hindus and similarly Muslims prefer to go to shops of Muslims,” Muhammad said. “Before the riots, both Hindus and Muslims used to come to my shop but now majority of non-Muslims have stopped buying from my shop.”
Muhammad’s shop was first looted and then burned in last year’s violence. Since then he has had poor sales because of an undeclared social boycott by the Hindu community, forcing him to think of selling his shop. “My father and I am discussing the possible relocation plans,” he told Al Jazeera.
The strained relations post-violence have led to minimal social interaction between the communities, aggravating the already wide fault lines. “Our children don’t even play outside with their (Hindu) friends any more. They have prohibited their children to play with ours. So we also don’t allow them to roam outside ” said Nazia Parween.
India’s approximately 200 million Muslims have long lived on the margins, with episodic religious violence forcing them to seek shelter in ghettos. Since the coming to power of Modi’s BJP in 2014, the community has become increasingly marginalised.
Experts say the silent migration of Muslims from “mixed” areas and further segregation of the community would expedite the near-total alienation.
“This, of course, is not a new phenomenon,” said Suchitra Vijayan, a New York-based lawyer and author of Midnight’s Borders, A people’s history of modern India.
“Sometimes a household, because of violence, is forced to move multiple times and it is so common amongst marginalised Muslim community in India. The community has earlier been also forced to migrate in large numbers to the Muslim-only enclaves or ghettos after violence perpetuated against them during Gujrat pogrom (2002), Nellie massacre (1983) or more recently now in Delhi.”
A 2006 report by the federal government-appointed Sachar judicial committee pointed out that “fearing for their security, Muslims are increasingly resorting to living in ghettos across the country.”

You know how digital marketing you should know is that I have digital marketing before how to start a career ?? Digital Marketing is an umbrella term online marketing effort for all your company. Many of their businesses have anti-digital channels such as Google Search, Social Media, Email, online advertising, and their websites and potential customers to connect with them. Because it allows them to reach the audience in the where they are already spending their long time, many companies focus on online marketing strategies online (or digital) channels: online. Assets are a huge circle of assets under your umbrella of strategy and digital marketing - your own online branding and social media channels - digital advertising, marketing, online brochure e-mail, and anywhere. It still is the best digital markets a clear picture of how these are all goals that each asset or strategy. The Queen's Gambit: The Story
The most powerful piece in chess is the queen.
When this piece joins the game of Duel Monsters anything will change.
With two dragon sisters, a magician and her descendant, the queen will take her rightful place.
As it should have been.
Hi my loves before we start, I changed the Millenium Fragment from an amulet to a ring. You know, the ones you put on your finger XD
I took this decision because we already have enough canon Millenium Items as necklaces and I never saw a fanon one as a ring, so I decided yeah let's do this.
Powers are still the same as its name.
If you wanna see it, visit my DeviantArt ^^
I will change the other chapter over time, but for now, let's continue with our journey in the Duelist Kingdom.
Hope you enjoy this chapter.
(*)
Chapter 16: The Finals
Evening fell over the Duelist Kingdom, which meant it was time for dinner in Pegasus Castle.
And what a grand dinner the finalist and non-duelist were served.
It was mostly Western cuisine, but no one seemed to mind, since it tasted all wonderful.
Jonouchi and Honda even shed some manly tears of happiness.
"Please relax tonight before tomorrow's finals.", said Croquet, Pegasu's right-hand man to the duelists. "Enjoy our modest offerings for dinner."
"That is modest?", whispered Sadiye in disbelief at the number of luxury dishes.
"For Pegasus, it must be.", whispered Maja back.
Croquet continued: "I have an announcement for you. In order to participate in the final tournament, you need these cards that we gave to all entrants."
The man in sunglasses holds up two Duel Monster cards. One had no image the other showed gold and other treasures.
"You need Glory of the King's Hand and Glory of the Kin's Opposite Hand. You cannot receive the prize money without the Glory of the King's Hand. You cannot challenge Pegasus without the Glory of the King's Opposite Hand."
This worried Joey since he didn't have one of them as it did Bandit Keith.
"One more thing. Please look at your soup.", asked Croquet.
All did as he said and suddenly Millenium Eyes were in the duelist soup bowls.
Shocked gasps from nearly anyone and Anzu wondered loudly what this was.
Honda declared how in his soup was nothing, as the other non-duelists noted the same thing.
Huh?
"Hey!", shouted Jonouchi. "You were trying to make us eat them?"
"Please open them.", ignored Croquet Joey shouts.
So the duelists did this and found each a piece of paper with a single letter printed on it.
All were confused.
What was the meaning of this?
Behind Croquet a screen came down from the ceiling and he explained it would now be reveleave who shall duel who in the finals.
A) Yugi Muto Vs. B) Mai Kujaku
C) Bandit Keith Vs. D) Katsuya Jonouchi
E) Dinosaur Ryuzaki Vs. F) Kihana Schariq
G) Sehrazat Faizan Vs. H) Javier Alphonso
Of course, I have to battle HIM!, cried Sehrazat inside herself, while Javier sent her a pervy look.
Meanwhile, Joey was pumped to duel Bandit Keith, Mai and Yugi promised each other to give their best and Dinosaur Ryuzaki grinned at Kihana saying: "The Ultimate Battle Dinosaurs VS. Dragons, I will destroy you Schariq!"
Kihana just sent him a cold look with her blue eyes, which made him shake.
Jeez, that girl was scary!
After Croquet summarised who would duel who, he told them to enjoy their dinner.
Which of course they did.
Well, the most.
Sehrazat didn't eat much and then excused herself to her room.
She wouldn't stay any longer in the same room as Javier!
In her room, she closed the door with the key, before she made herself fall on the bed.
Not a second later Afya was in her spirit form sitting beside her on the bed and stroking her hair.
"Child of mine, what is wrong? What did this vermin of a boy do to you?"
Crying Sehrazat slowly told Afya her history with Javier.
When she was finished she had to stop Afya from taking over her body and murdering Javier.
(*)
Kihana listened to how Sehrazat talked with herself, but she knew she was talking to Afya.
She had wanted to comfort her best friend, but it seemed Afya's anger made Sehrazat forget her fears for a moment.
Good.
Then she could visit someone.
The white-haired beauty knocked on the door, till Asshole opened.
"Ah doll I know you couldn't-", he stopped as he was dragged back into his room and slammed against a wall.
An arm pressed down on his throat, making it difficult to breathe for him.
Fearful he stared into the blazing blue eyes of Schariq. He swerved he saw the image of the Blue Eyes White Dragon over her.
"Listen to me you piece of shit.", growled Schariq not sounding human at all. "If you do something in your duel with Sehrazat if so much as speak about what you did with her out loud, I will come for you...and end you!"
Nearly pissing his pants he nodded.
This was not a girl, but a dragon ready to eat him alive right now!
"Good.", hissed Schariq and let go of him.
As fast as she had come to his room, as fast she was gone.
(*)
Afya looked sadly at her poor Sehrazat.
She had brought her descendent inside her Soul Chamber, into the deepest bed chamber of her palast so she could sleep.
What Javier had done to her...!
The former queen of Egypt would make him suffer!
(*)
Sadiye opened her eyes as her sister crawled into bed with her.
"Did you scare him, Nee-San?"
"So much, he needs to change his pants."
Both sisters laughed and then fell asleep.
(*)
Maja was sleeping like a baby, not hearing how Honda and Ryou knocked on her door.
Well, seems like only Anzu remained for their little investigation.
(*)
The morning of the Semi-Finals came sooner than expected.
Our duelists, Yami, Afya, Joey and Kihana were walking with their group to the room where all the duelists had to wait for their matches.
All wished them four luck and promised to watch and cheer on them from the Terrance.
The four duelists thanked them and entered.
Mai was the only one who greeted them friendly.
Bandith Keith leaned arrogant on a wall, Dinosaur Ryuzaki was looking at his cards and Javier needed one look at Kihana and this different-looking Sehrazat, who with her orange eyes screamed murder, to look down in fear.
Since the first match was between Mai and Yami, the beautiful blond said: "Yugi, it's now time that we settle things."
Yami gave a simple nod.
"Jonouchi, thanks for coming so that I can defeat you.", mocked Bandit Keith.
"Keith, you may be a former U.S. champion, but I'll crush a cheater like you with my cards!", retorted Joey calmly back.
The Pegasus on the door, the mythical being, which leads to the Duel Ring, its eyes light up and Croquet's voice comes from the speakers. "To the duelists participating in the semi-finals, thank you for your patience. Please proceed to the duelling area."
The door opened and they were on the terrace on the same height as the Duel Ring.
On the other side of the Dueling Ring was also a terrace but with a throne.
Out of this door came Pegasus with Croquet and Hair-Guy by his side.
"Honored duelists, welcome to the sacred battlefield.", began Pegausu and sat down on his throne-like chair. "I hereby declare the start of the Duelist Kingdom Championship Tournament! The winner of the tournament will receive a large monetary prize. And the winner will also earn the right to challenge me."
That's when Honda calls from the higher-up terrace, asking what would happen if Pegasus was defeated.
Calm Pegasus said that whoever would defeat him the creator of Duel Monster would be recognised as the first Duelist King or Queen, meaning everyone had to acknowledge this person as the number 1 in the whole world.
"Every duelist here wants the title more than the prize money.", stated Pegasus. "Am I wrong?"
Bandit Keith laughed: "How interesting."
"I'm gonna win!", stated Jonouchi.
"Please, I will win you just had luck, Jonouchi!", said Dinosaur Ryuzaki.
"I wonder which one of you will win the final tournament and challenge me.", mussed Pegasus.
Afya and Yami thought the same thing, they would defeat Pegasus and free the imprisoned souls.
Now it was for the First Match: Yami VS. Mai.
As they both stepped into the Duel Ring, Joey, Kihana and Afya joined the non-duelist on the terrace to watch the duel better.
The Duel between Mai and Yugi was in the beginning in Mai's favour, since Yami only thought about getting to Pegasus and not concentrating on his opponent.
After Mai's words reached him, Yami finally played right and defeated Mai's Harpie Pet Dragon with the legendary strongest knight Black Luster Soldier.
Since the woman didn't want to see her Harpies destroyed she put her hand on her deck, meaning she gave up.
Yami won and came into the next round.
Now it was Jonouchi VS. Bandit Keith.
In the beginning, Joey had nearly a heart attack not finding his card to qualify him for the duel, but Mai was so kind to give him her.
Now he could duel against Keith.
And what a Duel it was it showed how Jonouchi had become a strong duelist, defeating Keith and his stupid machine monsters.
Bandit Keith didn't like this one bit and jumped to Pegasus holding a gun against his head, demanding the price money.
However, Pegasus with his feet touched a button and Keith fell down into a long tunnel and into the Ocean.
Joey came into the next round.
Next up was Kihanan Vs. Dinosaur Ryuzaki and well Kihana had from start to beginning the upper hand with her dragons.
The Dinosaurs with their Duelist were story...again and Kihana came to the next round.
Now came the final round of the Semi-Finals Sehrazat/Afya Vs. Javier.
Javier pissed himself as he saw the hate and loathing in Afya's eyes.
The Sehrazat he knew was always so meek and afraid of him.
She changed.
It showed how she duelled.
In 11 turns she completely demolished him!
11 turns!
This had been the fastest duel of the day.
Then came the duels, all had feared, Yami VS Joey and then Afya Vs. Kihana.
Best friends against each other.
For Yugi/Yami and Jonouchi, it would be the first time they duelled with all their forces against each other.
But only one could win and under tears it was Yami.
Afya and Kihana began their duel, which was even more brutal than the one Sehrazat and Kihana had during the European Championship.
With only a difference of 50 Life Points Afya won.
So this meant...
"The final duel of the day is between Yugi Muto and Sehrazat Faizan.", announced Croquet.
Both stand proudly on their side of the Duel Ring, not saying a word just staring at each other.
This was it.
Whoever won would face Pegasus to get the trapped souls back.
Yet who would win?
The Pharaoh or the Queen?
No one had a clue, both were equally strong.
As Maja said perfectly: "This is not a round of skills, this is who will be lucky."
"Yami.", called Afya to him. "Whoever wins, we must promise that one will give their all to defeat Pegasus as I will give my all to defeat you."
Her husband nodded determined.
"I wouldn't want it any other way Afya."
"Duel!", they shouted together.
What happened in this duel could only be described as epic.
From turn to turn the upper hand changed, they counter each other perfectly and hit each other hard.
"That's not a duel.", gasped Anzu. "That's a massacre!"
"I didn't expect any less from them. Only who is the best can beat Pegasus.", said Kihana.
"If you watch them duel, you wouldn't think these two are married.", noted Joey.
"Yeah, they are so aggressive towards each other.", agreed Ryou.
"Someone wants popcorn?", asked Maja in the round.
Huh?
Where did she get the popcorn from?
Already Sadiye and Honda were eating their own little buckets of the popped corn.
Well,....they all could use a snack to calm their nerves, so Maja gave them all a little bucket.
Then it seemed Afya would win since she drew Sacred Warrior of Isis, but as he did with Mai Yami blocked her for three turns with Swords of Reveling Light and managed again to call Black Luster Soldier.
Kihana shudder.
It was strange seeing these two monsters with Afya and Yami...they looked a bit like them.
Afya didn't manage to make a comeback and lost, but they had battled till the last Lifepoints.
"Bravo.", applaude them Pegasus. "Such a passionate and intense duel. Never have I seen such skill. Sehrazat-Girl from now on you will be the Queen of the Duelists thanks to your second place in my tournament."
The queen frowned a bit but just nodded.
A title was not more important than freeing the souls.
She and Yami met up at the Room of the Duelists and hugged each other tight.
They just needed to feel how they still were okay with each other.
"You were incredible, my love.", praised Yami, stroking loving her hair. "If I hadn't got Swords of Reveling Light you would have won."
"My darling, you managed to summon Black Luster Soldier two times in a day, you are formidable."
They looked deep into each other eyes and leaned their forehead against each other.
Oh, they would like to kiss, but these were still the bodies of Yugi and Sehrazat, they couldn't just take advantage of them like this.
"Make Pegasus pay, my darling, my pharaoh."
He nodded and kissed her forehead.
Yami would defeat Pegasus and get all the souls back!
This was a promise!
(*)
Sorry to all who wanted me to write an epic duel, I suck at them. *sweatdrop*
